Locally, this Friday night is not just "Black Friday", but now something even more notable is tagged on this upcoming day. From local sports results of this past weekend, we've learned that another championship playoff football game has been scheduled. Delmar's Wildcats will again play in Laurel against the Bulldogs. This has been a long time rivalry.
The teams and their staffs, the bands, the cheerleaders, and those excited fans better be prepared in two very important ways.
1. At the last Laurel / Delmar square off (in Laurel), there was only 1 port-A-potty on the visitor side of the field. From some accounts, there were more Delmar fans in attendance then Laurel fans. I suggest, someone may want to alert the Health Department regarding this. It would only take one massive bladder explosion to cause a hazmat emergency, God forbid!
2. The weather is currently predicted to play a significant role in this event. For Friday, Accuweather is predicting the temperature to be as low as 33 degrees. But, the wind will be gusting up to 22 mph, making the "real-feel" temperature around 22 degrees.
If you plan on attending, and setting your somewhat warm tush, on the all metal bleachers, I suggest soaking your long johns in Sterno, and setting them ablaze around Half Time. That should keep you functioning until this historic sporting event concludes.
