We Survived

Yes, we've survived another exciting "Columbus Day". Other than store sales and government employees having the day off, the holiday has pretty much lost it's significance. Even in our government schools, students today, are taught that Columbus brought everything BAD to the new world including Syphilis. This is the PC crap being crammed down the throats of today's school students, rather than the factual truth of history. Reportedly, some text books have 6 pages dedicated to the presidency of Bill Clinton, and yet barely a page dedicated to some guy named Lincoln.

It's past the time of reading over your kid's shoulder(s) to see if they're headed down the PC highway of knowledge.

When I was in elementary school, Columbus day usually included a play about founding the new world. We made decorations and other historical related things.

My fave, Columbus day joke: Columbus traveled to the new world with his 3 ships, The Nina, The Pinta, and the Santa Maria. In two of the ships they brought cattle and introduced them to the New World.. This made Christopher Columbus, the world's first Bull Shipper!
